Dear OPIME group

I do hope that your work progresses well. I much enjoyed meeting you all when I visited to present my lecture on oral history and was pleased that the event received some good local press and media coverage, promoting your work and the importance of oral history. My neighbours in Mani were very impressed.
The past year has been a challenging time for all of us and face to face oral history interviews have had to be postponed or moved online. But we continue as best we can to ensure that people’s memories are collected and archived. The pandemic has sadly taken many older people from us whose voices will not be preserved and archived for the future. I urge you to continue your work next year with renewed energy. And I will support you in any way I can.
I send you and your families warm greetings of the season from all the team here at the British Library in London, and look forward to meeting up soon in safer happier times!
